Example Itinerary

00 Participants meet at the Ketch Rigger Pub/restaurant adjacent to our office. Those requiring wind/wet weather clothing will be kitted out. Breakfast will be provided in the Ketch Rigger, comprising tea, coffee, orange juice and bacon or sausage baps. Your skippers will introduce themselves over breakfast and will then take the participants to the yachts.
30 Skippers carry out a safety briefing on board.
00 Yachts leave the marina. During the morning the skipper will explain the basics of sailing and navigation to those who are interested. Guests may navigate and helm under the skipper’s direction.
30 Moor in a location such as Osborne Bay – Osborne House can be seen from the water, or in the Beaulieu River, for lunch on board (rolls, wraps, savouries, cake). Depending on the interests of the guests and the aims for the day, lunch may be a leisurely affair or may be a little shorter to allow more sailing time. Over lunch the skippers will discuss basic racing technique and tactics with the participants and all will agree a course around buoys, depending on wind and tides.
00 Yachts get underway again for an informal race around the agreed course. Participants may sail and navigate the course with the skippers standing by, advising and helping out as required.
30 Return to Hamble Point Marina, and awards presentation in the Ketch Rigger Pub.
